Nik Paper Kurdistan is another subsidiary of the Nik Fiber™ Industrial Production Group. It is currently being established in the field of limestone paper production and will soon be launched under the Green Paper™ brand, boasting an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of paper.
Stone paper, also known as limestone paper or mineral paper, represents a new generation of paper invented by researchers in recent years. Its primary raw material is calcium carbonate, which substitutes wood from trees in paper production. Stone paper is characterized by its waterproof and tear-resistant properties, the vibrant effect of colors upon it, and its ability to revert to soil during a short-term recycling process.
The stone paper production project marks a significant shift in paper production, introducing new technology that is both modern and environmentally friendly. This technology reduces energy consumption and eliminates the need for water, boilers, acid additives, alkalis, bleach, and the disposal of gas and water, making it 100% recyclable and economically viable.
More than just an alternative to traditional paper products, stone paper can replace the numerous plastic applications in our lives today, aiding in environmental preservation. Although the production process of stone paper, akin to that of producing polymer films, makes its finished price not yet competitive with traditional paper, it holds substantial value in the fields of plastic packaging and supplementary paper services, including waterproof paper, glass, and packaging.
